At Plastic Bubbles, celebrating our 50th anniversary is more than a milestone. It’s a moment to reflect on our journey, our purpose and most importantly, our people. For half a century, we have manufactured high-quality products, innovated in plastic packaging and adapted to evolving markets. But our proudest achievement has been our commitment to investing in the lives and careers of our team members.

We believe in building more than products. We build people.
From day one, our goal has been to foster an environment where every employee, regardless of where they start, has the opportunity to grow, learn and lead. Our approach includes mentorship, hands-on training and continued educatio, including bursaries for further learning. Here, we honour team members who have risen through the ranks, transforming their roles and their lives through perseverance and the support of Plastic Bubbles.

Maki Choma – Started in 1996
From Packing & Assembly to Forklift Driver and Dispatch Clerk
Maki’s career at Plastic Bubbles spans nearly three decades. She began in packing and assembly and steadily advanced into roles in logistics, dispatch and forklift operations. She completed training in Computer Literacy and Forklift Operation, proving that growth comes not just from ambition but from taking initiative and embracing new challenges.

Caiphus Motene – Started in 1997
From Cleaner to Machine Setter
Caiphus has also been part of the Plastic Bubbles family for nearly three decades. Starting as a cleaner, he embraced every opportunity to grow. Serving as a dispatch clerk, forklift driver and factory supervisor before mastering his role as a machine setter. His qualifications include Forklift and Crane Operation, Machine Setting and Supervisory Management.

Zolile Sothuko – Started in 1999
From Cleaner to Production Foreman
Zolile began his journey with us as a cleaner in 1999. Over the years, he has steadily risen through the ranks. From truck assistant to factory supervisor, to machine setter and now proudly serves as a Production Foreman. Along the way, he has completed extensive training in Workplace Safety, Quality Principles, Advanced Machine Setting, Material Mixing, FSSC Version 6, Computer Skills, Supervisory Management and Operational Management.

“It is a big achievement from being a cleaner to be the first black Production Foreman at Plastic Bubbles.” – Zolile Sothuko

Zolile’s story is one of grit, determination and transformation — and we are proud to walk this path with him.

Simon Moloi – Started in 2007
From Packer to Production Supervisor
Simon’s journey is a testament to positive thinking and team collaboration. Starting as a packer in 2007, he moved through roles in machine setting, mould changing and quality checks before stepping into leadership as a Production Supervisor. He credits his growth to the training opportunities provided at Plastic Bubbles and his willingness to learn and lead.

Magdeline Sebatane – Started in 2009
From Cleaner to Production Planner
Magdeline’s remarkable journey took her from cleaning roles to becoming a Quality Controller, then QC Supervisor and now a Production Planner. Along the way, she completed extensive training in Quality Control, SHEQ, Food Safety & ISO FSSC 22000 and Operational Management.
